I recently undertook a commercial photography assignment here in Sydney.
The brief was to capture natural photographs of a female runner with the style to be lifestyle. The feeling and mood were the critical elements rather than focusing on the model, the clothing, or the location.
I scouted a few locations and eventually settled on Centennial Park in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. I was drawn to a wooded area as I liked the sense of remoteness and closeness to the natural world. There’s a great sense of distance conveyed by getting away from an urban environment.

I also noted sunset times and sun direction as I wanted to get some late afternoon shots with some lens flare.

I also took the opportunity to capture a couple of portraits of my model. The first has a more commercial feel, while the second has the model looking to camera with a more personal feel.

Special thanks to my model, personal trainer Serra Burmin from Fitcrew.
I’m currently undertaking other commercial fitness and lifestyle photoshoots and will share the the photos soon.
